Welcome Back- School Year 25/26

Posted Date: 8/19/25 (9:00 AM)

ATLAS & LEC Students & Guardians,

The days are getting shorter and you know what that means? Another school year is right around the corner and I am excited to have students back in the building! Early next week, teachers will be communicating directly with students and guardians.

Below is some helpful information for the start of school year:

  • LEC webpage

  • First Day

  • Open House

    • Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 4:30-6:00 PM

    • This is a great time to check in with teachers and tour the building, if your student is new.  You will also be able to complete necessary paperwork/forms, and drop off any medications that will be needed during the day.

  • Attendance

    • Student attendance is important! Please encourage your student to attend school each hour of the school day. If your student is going to be absent, please call 218-454-6600 to report the reason for the absence. The Brainerd Public Schools attendance policy is linked here

  • Skyward Family Access

    • If you have not already, sign up for Skyward Family Access. Also please be sure to update your address, phone & email contacts.

  • Transportation

    • Brainerd resident students will receive a phone call before the first day of school with the approximate pick up and drop off times. Students will be transported on vans by ATLAS/LEC staff.

      • If you are transporting your student, they can be dropped off starting at 7:55 AM and need to be picked up at 2:15 PM.

    • If you live outside the Brainerd district, individual district transportation offices will be contacting you with this information.

  • School Supplies & Meals

    • We provide supplies that are needed for learning activities. Students are not required to bring their own.

      • If your student has a gym class, they do need gym shoes.

      • ATLAS students participating in the YMCA groups will also need work out clothing, a swim suit & towel, and hygiene items.

    • All students will be provided breakfast and lunch daily, free of charge. Menus can be found here.

  • Technology (Chromebooks & cell phones)

    • Students will be issued a district provided Chromebook to be used during the school day for instructional purposes. In general, students will not bring their devices home.

    • Optional Chromebook insurance is now available for $37.00 for students in grades 5-12.  Unlimited coverage includes protection against cracked and broken screens, drops and spills, liquid submersion, fire/flood, and natural disasters, as well as power surges caused by lightning. The deadline to enroll is September 18, 2025. See the attached document for more information.

    • Student cell phones will not be used during the instructional day. Students will turn phones into their classroom teacher at the start of the day, they will be returned before leaving for the day. Use related to medical needs will be allowed on a case by case basis.

  • Health Services

    • Students taking medication during the school day must have an authorization for the medication to be administered on file. This is completed annually for prescription and non-prescription medications. All health services forms can be found on the Student Health Services webpage.

We are looking forward to the school year ahead and value the support and partnership that you provide as we create a successful learning environment for our students. If you have questions about the year ahead, or any information shared above, please reach out!

Sincerely,

Principal, Lincoln Education Center
